2 days 1 night stay in Dusun Resort

25 & 26 January 2008

We, the students of Production Operation Management (POM) Seminar class (Group A & B) are required to organize and attend a workshop out of campus. So, we had the workshop at Dusun Resort, Kuala Nerang for 2 days 1 night. Each of the students has to pay RM60 for this program includes meal, accommodations and transport. Expensive or worth it? It’s more than an hour journey from our university.

We stay in a dorm of 20 people. Luckily there are 2 air cons otherwise will be very hot. It’s actually two dorms connected with a toilet.

In those 2 days, all we do is eat, sleep and attend workshop. The spokesperson for the workshop is the lecturer of group A. The lecture/talk that we’re exposed to is all about career path and the planning. The lecturer told us a lot of stories include his own experience. At first, everyone will listen to him but as the time pass, everyone started to get boring and talk with friends. He! It can be conclude as a useful content of talk but boring. Ha!

The interesting part is we were divided into groups (20 students per group) and given a title to perform a sketch. My group was given the title ‘Harga Barang Naik’ which means the price increment of goods. Haha.. so funny u know... I wish to upload it here but can't because the capacity is too large. Haiz...

The two days just ended like that.. feel wasting money but we still kinda enjoy la.. At the end of the day, prizes were given out for skecth performances. We reach university at around 3pm plus. Again, tired and sleepy.

Protocol & Social Etiquette Course

24 January 2008, Thursday

Today, my time is utilized with programs.

Wake up at 7.30am then went to gymnasium at 8.00am with Chiew Boey. To our shock, there are so many people there although so early. Finished gym at 9.30am. We had a packet of Nasi Lemak in the canteen and walked back to hostel at 10.00am. So tired and sleepy BUT cannot sleep!!

Rest a while and start to boil Chinese herb tea. After that cook porridge for lunch. Inside, I put potato slices and ‘Bak Gua’. Not bad, hehe! Then, eat with anchovies fried by grandma. Nyam! Nyam!

At 2.30pm, we went to the Centre for University-Industry (UIL) to hand up the ‘Suggestion Form’ of the preferred internship company by bus. After that, we walked to mall. Huah!! So so so hot… The sunshine could burn my skin. My bf and I walked around the mall and waited for UNIC bus to come and fetch us to Executive Development Centre (EDC) UUM for Protocol & Social Etiquette Course. There are around 250 students attend the course.

For the first two hours, we listened to lecture by a lecturer from the Faculty of Hospitality. At first, everyone was very excited attending the course but it ends up being boring at the earlier part. The lecture is about how to dress up and how to communicate in a proper manner during a formal function. Some of us talking to each other and some of us took out our handphone and play game! hehe... good student?

8.00pm. The time that most of us waiting for. Time for dinner!! But of course need to eat in a proper manner treat it as a formal function. We’re taught how to use cutleries provided to dine. Seems to be easy; just take the cutleries and eat. NO! There’s full of style and manner. Different dish different way of eating. You know how? We have hard time but enjoyable.

We had mushroom soup, oriental bun, chicken chop set and dessert. Yummy! Yummy! The food was not bad if not being fussy. He!

Wah... Assignment Coming... Interview Coming...

University life is not a university life if without assignment! This semester i take 5 subjects which are as follow:-
1) Strategic Management (SM)
2) Entrepreneurship
3) Human Resource Management (HR)
4) Operation Management Seminar (POM)
5) Event Management (EM)

Every subjects will have its own assignment which carry different portion of marks. So, I will start busy soon..

Meanwhile, I got another problem arising which is INTERVIEW!!!! huah... I so tension to arrange a suitable time to go down to KL for an interview. HELP!!!! Thought of so many dates but stil can't get a suitable date. There's so many obstacles... Sob! Sob! :-( What can i do? When fix a date before CNY, scared theres no bus back to Penang and also hard to get a bus ticket to KL. When fix another date after CNY, suddenly come out a Mid Semester Exam!! Tell Me! Teach Me! I'm going crazy!!!! Haiz... Super Hyper Tension!!

Sick!!

I've been sick for the pass 3 days... Luckily, I'm at home not hostel. After 2 days of suffer, only then i'm willing to see doctor.. Hehe... I got headache (so so so pain), backache and even fever (38.7 degree celcius) Today, i'm getting much more better after taking medicine..

Since getting better, I went shopping at Prangin Mall and bought a pair of shoes and some other things. So, my Chinese New Year shopping has finished. Everything completed, from head to toe. Time passes very fast.. So fast till 3 hours just over in a snap.

Tonight, we'll be having dinner with my grandma at Farlim. She called me so many times today just to ask me whether wanna eat dinner or not. Huh! So tension... Although i said don't wan't but she'll ask again after sometimes. I don't know wanna laugh or cry also.. If you were me, what will you do?

Shop and Walk in City Plaza, Alor Star….

12th January, my friend (Chiew Boey), my bf and I went to Alor Star. Reach at 2pm and shopped till 6.30pm. We shopped in City Plaza and bought a lot of things. My friend bought a blouse and a short. My bf bought a jeans and I bought a skirt! He!

We bought DVDs too - Hindi Movie "Om Shanti Om", English Movie "I Am Legend" & Chinese New Year Songs.So happy to buy things but at the same time also heartache cuz spent a lot. But nevermind la.. Chinese New Year clothes ma.. Walked till hungry, we had McDonald. Can refill drinks.. do you guys know? Hmmm… Save a lot!

Inside the plaza had Billion (万顺). There, we bought some cooking stuffs. After a long whole day shopping, we went back. Reach hostel and had dinner in our college (hostel) food court. A tired yet enjoyable day..

There go another day…

Sudden Trip Back to Penang!!

On 8th January, I’ve suddenly made decision to go back Penang because there is a work that I could earn some income. I feel it’s worth it to go back just to take the work. It’s a typing work which I can earn RM2.50 for a page typed.

9th January, after Event Management class, my bf and I depart at 2.30pm from uni and reach my grandma house at 8pm.. huh! It’s a long tired trip..

10th January, we went to Prangin Mall.. Ha! What a good day! I called my cousin and he managed to help me take the book (the work) from my friend and drop it in his friend’s shop in Prangin Mall. When reach, we took the book at the respective place. Then, we had breakfast and lunch together in Sushi King!! Yummy.. Yummy.. So delicious.. It has been a long time I never dine in Sushi King. After that, we proceed with our objective of the day.. So excited.. Walk here and there searching for a cheap cheap handphone as our second phone. He! Finally, after long survey at few shops, we bought two Nokia 1200 at RM138 each! Kinda cheap already right?

Right after that we went home and rest and do some typing work. At night, we took bus to Sunshine Farlim. He! My bf bought some Chinese New Year decorations stuff! He also tried a few pants/jeans but he did not manage to find a suitable one ---- disappointed. Yo! CNY coming soon.. Never forget to buy 'Bak Kua' to eat lor.. We bought 'Tuck Kee' brand of 'Bak Kua' which costs us RM18++ for just less than 1o pieces.. So expensive! After 2 hours of walk, we went back and had dinner!! Ah Ma buy a lot of food for us.. Eat till full full.. he! She bought 2 packets of Dry Char Hor Fun and also ‘Ikan Panggang’ for us. Yummy.. Yummy..

11th January, Early morning wake up go Air Itam Market. Go into coffee shop then ah ma call us. We got shock.. Haha.. So coincidently met her in the ‘kopitiam’. After breakfast, ah ma go back, my bf and I continue our journey. In that morning, I bought a clothes (Ah Ma say, ‘aiyo, kena tipu liao la.. so expensive also buy! People see u young young nice to buli.’) Nvm lor.. Suak.. Buy liao nothing can do right?

Around 2.30pm, wait for bus to go back uni lor.. Another 5 – 6 hours journey.. Tired! Reached uni at around 8pm.. Huah! U know wat.. when reach Changloon, traffic jam so so so long lor.. What happen? Some shop houses on fire!! Terrible! I’m sure if u people got see news then will know the story.

* This trip and movement in Penang is all depend on public bus. We stay at grandma house.

Class started for the new semester (last semester for me)

Class started already... Nowadays, i think i could hardly have things to write in this blog already.. most of the time i'll busy attending class, revise and etc... dont know want to write wat also... maybe sometimes i'll share some old experience with you all.. hopefully wont make u people boring la.. hehe.. just wanna drop by here to write something.. nothing much to write actually... So, wish you guys all the best ya!!

A Tired Tired Tired day!

YESTERDAY was an extremed exhausted day... Woke up at 7am.. When to Faculty of Business Management at 8am... To my surprise, the queue to meet Vice Dean was so so so long but stil have to queue.. Waited till 11am, at last got to meet him but i cant manage to do the things i want.. he was so 'fierce'... he say, 'No, u have to choose other subject since it's full'.. huh.. u all should know, we student for sure will choose the subject that we prefer to study right? ok.. nvm... i got out from the room and try other alternative.. We went to Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality to find its Vice Dean.. Again, what we heard is, "Sorry, since it's full then u cant add anymore. Try to find other subject.'... (disappointed again) Have to think and plan again... It's so hard for us to make decision and decide the subject we prefer with the appropriate time that can suit our existing timetable.. Between 8am - 11am, I've 'run' to a few places to do things with another friend while my bf continue lining up in the queue..

Wah! Pek chik! All this wouldnt happen if the uni itself make things more clear and professional earlier... It shouldnt be any prob at first.. Last semester, we added Restaurant Management as my elective subject.. Even in my guidebook and the latest guidebook DID NOT mention there is pre-requisite needed for that subject.. suddenly out of no where, the Vice Dean of its faculty told us that there is changes.. Huh! SO MAD!! Now, make us we floating in the air and so headache about it.. till this moment, i still havent add my elective subject... i need to add subject that i least prefer.. How am i going to survive? crap!

After busy with the add/drop, we had lunch and went to class at 2-3.30pm and 3.30-5pm.. Super tired! i not feeling well at the neck and shoulder but no choice.. Reach room, direct bathe then take a short nap before dinner... The whole night, so free, dono wanna do wat pula.. haha.. u all know la.. class just start, nth much can do yet.. he!

...Back to Uni lor...

I'm back, UUM!!

This morning, i suppose to come to uni by public bus called 'UTC' at Butterworth Jetty.. But coincidently my fren, Ah Bee called me and ask, "Where are you now?". That time, my roommate, my bf and I can say on the way after breakfast to jetty on island.. Hehe.. So good of her, she came and fetch us ( her bf drove) at Butterworth Jetty.. Wah! when we saw her car, to our surprise, there are a lot of things (Ah Bee's).. Too bad, the car can only fit two people.. At last, the decision is my roommate decided to take direct bus back uni but her luggages squeezed in the car..


We reached uni at around 12.15pm at Kolej Eon, UUM.. After that, each of us start clearing our room and arrange things.. So so tired.. fall asleep after bathe.. Wake up at 6.15pm and when for dinner at Varsity Mall.. After dinner, we went 'shopping' at our Uni Mart for the purpose of 'stock in'.. understand? he!

Then i come online in the kolej (hostel) open hall to write in my lovely blog... U know wat? i manage to write in blogger but i couldnt my blog at its site.. So sad yet angry.. I dont know what is happening and dont know what to do.. Once i open my blog site, it automatic direct to other website.. WHAT'S GOING ON??!! What should i do?! I viewed some post that said it's because of Advertlets.. so how now? I'm so blank..

Another thing is, suddenly the hall blackout.. no electricity.. make my laptop out of battery.. so i have to stop here la.. continue other time.. haiz...

What A Busy Day!!

Wah.. today my journey start at 7.45am..

We (both sis, bf n myself) fill fuel at Caltex Petrol Station at Jelutong then send my sis (Aun Chee) to work.. Then the 3 of us had Lor Mee as breakfast at Pulau Tikus (a famous one).. Yummy Yummy.. Shall try it for those who never went there b4..

9.00am, i drop my youngest sis (Aun Teng) at her friend's house at Pekaka and 'ta pao' (bungkus or bought) chicken rice as lunch!

YoohOo... My real journey of the day started at 9.10am.. We headed to penang bridge and drove all the way to Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).. We brought our things and luggages to UUM as there were so many things that we couldn't carry by hand on bus! We reached UUM at 11.05am... Register and get our room's key.. Then, we busy carry our things and organise our room... Huh.. so so so tired lor..

Minute by minute the time pass... The clock strike 2.00pm.. We get ready to get back.. 2.15pm, we left UUM and reached Penang at 4.00pm.. Although I'm so tired but i've to drive.. Haiz... And unlucky also.. My car spoil somewhere which i dono... But luckily i'm already at Penang Bridge and the car stil can move.. Then i direct drove the car to the uncle that repairs our car to find out the problem and solution.. (Solution = need to leave the car for him a few hours to repair) Haiz.. money money money again.. only this car, i wonder we've spent how much on it just to repair..

Reached home at 4.35pm.. Huah... so so so tired and super super sleepy and hungry... My bf cooked maggie mee and we had it together.. then i rest for around half an hour and left the house at 5.40pm to fetch Aun Chee at 6pm.. Send her back then fetch Aun Teng at her fren's house then headed to Bukit Jambul Complex..

U know why i went there? Haih.. my forgetful bf did not bring back his shoes back from KL that use to attend classes.. So have to buy one.. We tried to find as cheap as possible and got one at the price of RM45.. Ahaha... u know, we bought 2 T-shirt for RM2.50 each.. haha.. cheap leh.. it's actually RM5 (buy 1 free 1 basis).. keke.. although the quality just so so but not bad la.. can wear also good liao.. Right? Then we register for Digi Postpaid promotion called '1 Plan'... I think Digi give a very good deal for this plan... U know about it? If dont know then CHECK IT OUT! Maybe u'll be attracted by it too... After everything settle, we had Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in the complex.. hehe.. long time didn't eat.. Reached home at 10.15pm.. So tired lor..

Actually, i rushed back is to go to bank.. but.... din manage.. U know la.. i din manage get to bank at office hour then i try to find the cash deposit machine.. Huh.. so so unlucky la.. i went to THREE banks at different time (Sunshine Square, Northam side there, Jelutong) but still did not manage to deposit cash! Unlucky right? I went to Bishop Street too... but dont have the bank i want (i didn't know that earlier... ) he!

Tesco Penang!

Lalalalala... Actually, i don't have much thing to write.. My journey of the day just started at 8.30pm.. I brought my bf to Singapore Clinic at Jalan Terengganu.. After that we had dinner at Jelutong near the post office there.. We ate 'lok lok' and also 'Char Hor Fun'... The food is not bad.. In my opinion, the food in Penang Island are mostly delicious.. anyone that not agree with me? He!

AT 10.00pm, we reached Tesco Penang!! As usual, Tesco is full of people.. i wonder why?!! We bought a lot of things.. all are the necessary things to bring into uni.. (17item costs RM99.99)

Happy New Year 2008 !~

Yo! Happy New Year! Have fun during the eve? hmm... i'm sure everyone do right? Anyone disagree?

We (both my sis, my bf and I) depart from house at 7.30pm... We went to 'Tong Hai An' coffee shop at farlim for dinner with grandma.. After dinner, we headed to gurney.. Our car park at our aunt's house.. hehe... easy parking with no hassle.. When we reach there, the night is still young.. Not so crowded yet.. We walked along the Gurney Drive then came across a banner that wrote there's a countdown party in Esplanade.. So, we decided to go there..

When on the way there, just certain part of the road had jam... Once reached Esplanade, i drop my sisters and friends down first while me and my bf search for a parking space.. HAha... just a few minutes later, my sis called me and say, 'Wei, where are you all?? the concert is Malay concert!'.. Ahhaha... I take a big round wanna go back to the place i drop them but the road is block.. so, they walked to Bishop Street and waited for us in front of HSBC. Then, we went back to Gurney Drive and parked at the same place (as i say, easy without hassle - reach at 11.40pm)..

Yeah! We're just on time for the countdown.. When the clock strike 12.00am, we witnessed the fireworks from the top of the Gurney Plaza! It's so beautiful..



After celebration, all also tired.. I sent my sis fren back then we went to Sungai Dua McDonald and bought 3 sets of Fillet-O-fish for supper.. Went to bed around 2.30am.. sleep like a piggy til the next morning! He!
